Tops Diner never disappoints! I brought my girlfriend here to celebrate her move to New Jersey. This was my second time coming here since the remodel. Parking was smooth and since we had a reservation, we only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Their coasters boast about having Tops notch quality, speed, and service and they certainly live up to it. For a jam-packed Saturday, we couldn't believe how fast our food came out. We both ordered and enjoyed coffee-based cocktails to start, and the tequila drink I finished the meal off with was strong but pleasant as well. Our food was filling and flavorful, from her power pancakes to my catfish and grits.

Amazing food at Top's. A friend introduced me to the establishment after the re-vamping and I was blown away by this iconic NJ diner. Easily my go to spot when I am in the area for sure. The famous disco fries didn't disappoint at all! I was impressed by all of the food at Top's. My go to is always the pasta, usually the spicy rigatoni - it is delicious & hits the spot every time!! Their drinks are top tier and always made pretty strong! Which I am not complaining about, considering they are a bit pricey. The drinks are all cool & they have some seasonal changes if you want to try a more creative cocktail. Also love the vibes inside! They've created such a cool atmosphere for dining and I enjoy myself every time! Can't wait to visit once again.

Ample parking! The décor of this place is absolutely fantastic. Open and airy with classy booths all around! The bathroom without a doubt is the fanciest you'll ever find in any diner. They have someone cleaning it every THIRTY minutes!! We were so impressed with the atmosphere and food we came here twice before leaving NJ (first was for dinner the second time was for brunch). Dinner time was packed so make sure to make a reservation beforehand during peak times (or settle for bar seating like we did). They actually had a DJ this night which was cool to see. Items we ordered for dinner as of 6/2024: - Kale Salad - $15 - This was fantastic. Very refreshing and one of the best Kale salads I've had recently. Strongly recommended (great price and quantity too). - Crispy Calamari - $18 - Great quantity for the price you pay (this seems to be the theme here). Freshly made and enjoyable to eat with the dipping sauces. - Lobster Ravioli/Shrimp - $32 - We enjoyed this quite a bit. Lots of lobster in each ravioli and the sauce was fantastic. Recommended for any lobster fans. - Steak Tips - $32 - I enjoyed this dish (though not as much as the others). The steak had a great char flavor and the gravy sauce was fantastic. The steak was well prepared and tender. Items we ordered for brunch as of 6/2024: - Eggs Norwegian - $21 - Tasty although it was overall a bit too salty. The tomato salad that comes with it has a nice dressing and is refreshing when paired with the rest of the dish. - Recovery Burger - $23 (including a side of hash browns added $4) - The burger while good flavor wise wasn't anything super special (also messy to eat!). - Buttermilk Pancakes - $11 - Pretty good for pancakes though not the best we've had. - Peach tea - $4 - Very refreshing. I'd get this again (wish it came in a larger glass though!). Although overall we enjoyed the food here, we enjoyed the dinner segment more than the brunch segment. I think the perfect time would be lunch/dinner if we were to come again (which we hope to in the future).

Wowwwie. This is not your average diner! The elaborate menu offers a wide variety of breakfast and lunch items as well as speciality items like lobster Mac & cheese and filet. There's a cocktail bar, coffee station, fresh pressed juices, teas, milk shakes and protein shakes. This is one of those places where there's literally something for everybody. It's safe to say you should expect a wait if you come in during the weekend but they do have a side room where you can order drinks & desserts to go/while you wait. We waited 45 mins for a table of four on a Sunday morning. While waiting, we ordered juice and Beignets. The Beignets were fantastic. Instead of being covered in powder sugar they had brown sugar on them and they came with three dipping sauces- caramel, berry purée, and honey. They were ready in 5 mins and held us over while we waited for our table. We ordered the general tso's cauliflower appetizer to start which was fantastic. The cauliflower was meaty and lightly covered in a thin breading and sauce. It had fresh pepper and green onion thinly sliced on top which really added flavor. My husband ordered the lox and onion omelette which was a specialty brunch item on their daily specials. It came with a lot of cheese inside and a good amount of salmon. It came paired with a side salad. I ordered the tavern burger and added mushrooms to it. The burger came cooked to order and the patty was wagyu. Such a great burger and I ordered the house side salad with it. We surprised my husband with tiramisu as a birthday dessert. Staff came out with a sparkler and sang happy birthday at the perfect time. He was not expecting it and loved the surprise. Our server was also awesome. She was helpful & tried hard to hear us. The restaurant was pretty loud but the ambiance is great. Very retro but elevated, with tons of classic diner touches and finishes. We'd definitely come back.

A top class diner! Been here twice now and both times it has been very busy. The place reads very fancy and high class compared to other NJ diners. The menu is big but the food always eats fresh. I like how they have specials here for both food and drinks. Both times I came and got chicken dishes and they do not disappoint. The chicken is crispy and juicy. The gravy here is top notch! I had it twice now and will definitely get it for a third time. The waffle with my chicken tenders was the best waffle I've ever had! It was so light unlike the traditional dense waffles. Will be getting more of those as well!

Tops Diner has been on my list for years, and this weekend we finally had the chance to go. It happened to be Mother's Day, and as expected there were long waits. In fact, they weren't even taking anymore walk ins - but they happened to have two seats at the bar we were happy to take. The inside is very beautiful. Tastefully glam for a diner, ultra clean, and all the staff seemed happy to be there. You can tell they take being the #1 diner in Jersey seriously. I ordered an iced mocha that had a really balanced chocolate flavor- not too sweet. I decided on the lobster Mac & cheese because I knew it was the most popular menu item. My husband ordered the corned beef hash with over easy eggs, which also came with two buttermilk pancakes (we made them banana chocolate chip for an extra $4). My lobster Mac & cheese was delicious. It's not something I'd ever normally order because admittedly I don't think Mac & cheese is usually very good... sometimes it can be stodgy with liquid cheese and overcooked noodles. This was perfect- very cheesy with high quality cheese, crispy breadcrumbs, al dente pasta, and at least 3-4 claws of lobster meat. A great value for $32. We were really happy with our experience at Tops and are excited to come back for another meal.
